Rubik's Cube
The Rubik's Cube is a mechanical puzzle invented by Hungarian sculptor and architecture professor Erno Rubik in 1974, originally designed as a teaching tool to illustrate movement in three-dimensional space. Each face of the cube must be restored to a single colour by manipulating its rotating rows, a challenge that became one of the best-selling puzzles in the world. The range now comes in several formats, from the classic 3x3 to the more complex 4x4.
The Rubik's Cube offers more than 43 quintillion possible combinations, for a single correctly solved position.
