Adapted from George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, A Game of Thrones: The Board Game was designed by Christian T. Petersen and published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2003. Up to six players take control of the great houses of Westeros (Stark, Lannister, Baratheon, Tyrell...) and fight for control of the continent through secret diplomacy, territory management and tactical combat. A lasting best-seller of conquest gaming, it has seen several editions and many expansions.
