Azul
Azul is an abstract tile-placement game created by Michael Kiesling and published by Plan B Games in 2017, inspired by azulejos, Portugal's iconic ceramic tiles. Players build their own mosaic wall by drafting coloured tiles, in a subtle balance between opportunity and foresight. Awarded the Spiel des Jahres in 2018, the game has since spawned several sequels, including Azul: Summer Pavilion and Azul Duel.
Azul won the prestigious Spiel des Jahres in 2018, a year after its release.
